Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement describes how the website of Avaava Academy observes the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (Laki digitaalisten palvelujen tarjoamisesta, 306/2019), any issues with the accessibility of the service and how you can give us feedback about accessibility issues.
This service is provided by Avaava Oy. We want our digital services to be accessible to as many users as possible. We take accessibility into consideration in the development of our digital services.

How accessible is the website?

This service partially meets the level A and AA accessibility criteria required by law (WCAG 2.1). The service has some accessibility issues which are described in more detail below.

The service is not yet fully accessible.

Content or functions that are not yet accessible:

  • The contrast of the ‘Go to content’ link is poor. (WCAG 1.4.3)
  • The site has some buttons with visible labels that do not match the accessible names. (WCAG 2.5.3)
  • At checkout, input errors are not automatically read from the screen reader. Corrections are not suggested for recognised errors. (WCAG 3.3.3 and 4.1.3)
  • The order of reading or focus is illogical from the list of input errors at checkout to the page footer. (WCAG 1.3.2 and 2.4.3)
  • The user is not taken to the opened mobile menu directly in the order of reading or focus. (WCAG 1.3.2 and 2.4.3)
  • The service does not always provide several methods for locating specific content. (WCAG 2.4.5)
  • The site’s HTML code does not comply with the specification in full. (WCAG 4.1.1)
  • The name tag shown in the “Register” links is currently read incorrectly by the screen reader. (WCAG 2.5.3)

Our aim is to remedy the issues listed here in early 2024.
